Create a social media strategy
With an effective social media strategy, you have the possibility to communicate directly with your already existing and potential customers, when and where they want. In order to know what type of content to create, how you should talk to your followers, and what channels you should use, it’s important that you identify and understand your ideal customer. To do that, you can create a “buyer persona”. This will enable you to become more personal and reach the right audience.
To complete your social media strategy you have to make sure it aligns with your overall business goals. When that is done, you can create your social media goals. A tip here is to follow the SMART method, which means that your goals have to be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
For example:
“Within a year I am going to reach 10 000 followers by only posting organic content.”
Create a content strategy
In order to create a successful social media strategy, you have to create interesting and valuable content. This will help you reach more people, create engagement, build loyalty and in the end, increase sales. It’s important to remember to create your content strategy based on your social media goals.
Before you start, ask yourself the questions: “What channels do my target group interact with the most?” and “What kind of content has gotten the most clicks, views, and comments?” When you’ve answered these questions, it’s time to create your content strategy. Remember to create content that’s tailored to each channel. This can be done by creating similar content, adapting it to each channel. In that way, the content in the different channels has the same goal but isn’t identical.
Build relations, create engagement and be SOCIAL!
Social media is ever-evolving and there’s always something new to learn. Previously, you could create content and be sure that your followers would see it. Unfortunately, that’s not the case anymore. Because of the great number of users and all the new algorithms that disfavor companies and brands, it’s more difficult to use social media to reach your followers. It is therefore important that you build relations. Try to listen to your followers and engage in their conversations. There’s a greater chance that people who engage with you will trust you, show loyalty, and recommend you to others.
To create engagement you should speak directly to your followers as if you know them personally. Be transparent, personal and use humor to humanize your company. By doing so, you can build strong relationships and maybe even get your followers to share your content, which will favor your visibility in the different channels. Keep in mind to only engage in conversations that are relevant and where you can deliver value.
In summary, to create engagement and form the conversations around your brand you have to create strategies based on your overall business goals, be personal, and talk to your followers as if they were one person.
